1. What areas does Professional Moving & Storage serve for local moves?

We serve Lawrence, Eudora, Overland Park, Lenexa, Olathe, Kansas City, and Topeka. However, we typically can move you from and to any location as an agent for National Van Lines.

2. Can I leave Clothes in my dresser?

Arrow Down

Yes! You can leave clothes in your dresser, but we ask that you don’t keep any breakables, such as jewelry in your dresser when we move it.

3. What if my move date/address changes?

You need to call us ASAP. If we have a deposit from you, we will have more flexibility in moving dates around. As far as a change in address goes, you will just need to call us and let us know so we can make the correct changes on the paperwork. The address change could also affect the quote depending on location.

4. How far in advance should I book my move?

It depends on when you are moving! If you are moving in the summer, then a month is preferred. In the winter, a few weeks should be sufficient. If you are moving long-distance, then a month and a half to two months is acceptable.

5. What do I do with my TVs?

TVs will need to be packed in a box for us to move. We can pack them for you at an additional charge or you can pack them yourselves.

6. Do you move pianos?

Yes, we do! To give you a price, we will need to know what type of piano it is, and if there are stairs at either location.

7. What will make my move go quicker?

Arrow Down

Most of our moves are priced at an hourly rate. To decrease the time needed on your move, you can disassemble beds and make sure everything is boxed and ready to be moved.

8. Will you haul items to be donated or to be disposed of?

If you have leftover junk or items that you need donated, we can donate or dispose of them for an additional cost.

9. Will you disconnect and reconnect washers and dryers?

We do prefer that you disconnect and reconnect washers and dryers, but our movers can provide this service if absolutely needed.

10. Can I tip the movers? How much should I tip?

Yes, you can tip your movers! Movers may only accept cash tips. Any tip amount to our movers is appreciated.

11. What if I want extra protection for my items?

Arrow Down

We shrink wrap and wrap your items in moving blankets at no-cost to you. If you want that extra piece of mind, consider purchasing valuation protection. Each move includes free coverage of $0.60 per pound per article. At an additional cost, value protection will cover your items at full value. Ask your move consultant for pricing.

12. What if items on my list are no longer going or I need to add more items to my inventory?

Just give your move consultant a call. They will inform you of any possible price changes.

13. How can I pay on moving day?

The movers will calculate and total the bill for you on move day. We accept credit cards, checks, and cash. You can ask the movers to charge the card we have on file from your deposit, or you can provide a new one with the form the movers will provide to you.

14. Will you disassemble items that you move?

Yes! If we disassemble items (beds, tables, etc.) to move them, then we will reassemble them at the delivery address.

15. Is wrapping and padding included in the cost?

We use shrink wrap and moving blankets to keep your items safe during the moving process. These are included in the estimate provided to you. You also have the option to purchase boxes, mattress bags, and other packing materials from us for extra protection.

16. Can you do out-of-state moves?

Yes! We are an agent for National Van Lines and can service a move to any of the lower 48 states, or even internationally!

17. How should I pack my closet?

Wardrobe boxes are the typical option and can be purchased from us for use on move day. Some customers elect to move their clothing on their own. We cannot move clothing that is not packed.

18. How should I label my move boxes?

Label the boxes on all sides with the room it came from and the contents of what is packed in the box.

19. How should I pack wall hangings?

We recommend packing wall hangings in Mirror or Picture boxes. These can be purchased from our packing store or any store that provides moving boxes.

20. Do you have different prices for moving on different days?

Our moving rates are the same for each day of the week. We do not charge extra for weekends, and we do not work Sundays.

21. How many years have you been in business?
